microTargeting™ Electrodes

FHC’s microTargeting™ electrodes received FDA clearance in year 2000.

The FHC microTargeting™ Electrodes are designed specifically for use in functional neurosurgical procedures and the placement of implanted stimulating electrodes where the physician requires the intra-operative recording of single unit neuronal activity in the brain and intra-operative stimulation of neural elements in the brain. The microelectrodes are advanced into the brain until the desired neuronal discharge patterns are encountered.

Electrodes are inserted in an insertion tube mounted on a stereotactic system.

Our microTargeting™ electrodes have been used at most DBS centers throughout the world. The numerous configuration options make the electrodes compatible with most drives and stereotactic systems.

microTargeting™ Insertion Tubes

• The FHC microTargeting™ insertion tubes are intended to accurately guide a microelectrode or instrument in the brain during stereotactic functional neurosurgical procedures.
• Our insertion tubes are available in a variety of lengths and diameters.
• They are always provided with their mating stylets.
• The single electrode insertion tube set allows the placement of one microTargeting™ electrode at a time with a Drive System.
• The array electrode insertion tube set allows the simultaneous placement of from 1 to 5 microTargeting™ Electrodes in a 2 mm orthogonal array about the stereotactic axis.
