BOWDOIN, ME – FHC has named Melanie Cooper as the Director of Resources.
As Director of Resources, Ms. Cooper serves as the face of FHC for external stakeholder relations. She is responsible for meeting the needs of FHCers through the supervision of human resources, facilities and the corporate wellness program. She will also oversee the operation of FHC’s community resources, including the Cathance Children’s Center, Fitness Center, and housekeeping/hospitality services.
Ms. Cooper first joined FHC in 2015 as the Human Resources Manager. She is a 2014 graduate of the Kennebec Leadership Institute and completed the Bell Leadership Institute Achievers Program in 2017. She earned a Certificate of Achievement in HR Management from Villanova University. Ms. Cooper graduated with a bachelor of science degree from the University of Maine at Presque Isle. Prior to joining FHC, she served as the Human Resources Manager at J.S. McCarthy Printers in Augusta and also taught high school English and humanities in Maine and New Hampshire.
When not at work, Ms. Cooper volunteers with the Maine Cancer Foundation and participates in the annual New England Parkinson’s Ride. She and her husband, Isaiah, reside in Wales with their daughter, Sabrina.
