microTargeting™ Power Assist System

The microTargeting™ Power Assist Accessory is used by 80% of our US customers. It adds Power Assist control (including hand held remote) and Position Display capabilities to the basic STar™ Drive M/E System. Simply remove the protective cover of the drive, insert the motor through the sterile drape sleeve, attach to the drive and zero the drive. Your distance to target is now shown on the Display Module! Testing of the STar™ Drive M/E with the Power Assist resulted in a greater than 50% reduction in microphonics when driving the microelectrodes in an array configuration. Quieter advancement of the drive combined with readily available depth readings can make targeting more efficient.

"LOOM" Cable Management System

The LOOM Cable Management system is designed for use with the microTargeting™ Drive, STar™ Drive and STar™ Inserter systems. It optimizes electrode cable layout for single or array electrode recording. Included in the Loom Cable Management System are the Cable Loom and Patient Common Ring.  The Cable Loom mounts on the drive positioning platform. The Loom’s flexible grooves hold cables securely to provide strain relief and reduce confusion about electrode identification. The Patient Common Ring provides a one-point connection for all patient common cables.

FHC is committed to service and support these devices which includes: our Preventive Maintenance Program, a full selection of replacement parts available for reorder, 24/7 technical phone support, and Directions for Use in 22 languages available for download.

If your microTargeting Drive maintenance schedule has lapsed – more than 24 months since last service—you should not use your Drive in surgery. Please contact us to schedule service or to discuss possibly transitioning to a new STar Drive. You may be eligible for a trade-in discount.
