Bowdoinham, Maine was once a leading shipbuilding community. Hundreds of ships rolled down our streets, into the Cathance River, and off to ports along the Atlantic seaboard. Today, the ship builders work down river in Bath. Bowdoinham craftsmen now spend their time producing microelectrodes and instrumentation for neuroscience researchers and neurosurgeons worldwide. Cathance Landing is now home to small boats, jet skis and frolicking children.
