ECM Experiment Coordination Module

The Experimental Control Module (ECM ) provides a hardware solution for coordination of all instrumentation in any stimulus-response setup. Allows the user to easily plan entire experiment protocols as an arbitrarily complex state machine.

  • Centralized real-time coordination and control of the experiment (neural recording, behavioral monitoring and recording, stimulus presentation, and reward systems).

  • Intuitive programming of the entire experiment as a finite state machine.

  • Shortens experiment setup time by integrating smoothly with standard widely used applications (such as Visual Basic and MATLAB®) using ActiveX integration.

  • No new programming language to learn.

  • Real-time experiments through non real-time computer operating systems, such as Windows.®

  • Triggered presentation of stimuli or feedback based upon real-time analysis of behavioral data input.

  • Capability for use as a training aid.

  • Easy integration with existing systems.
